Gran Moraine Vineyard Chardonnay

We’ve always loved white Burgundy. In the past decade, we have witnessed Chardonnay growers in the Willamette Valley gaining knowledge and expertise farming Chardonnay in Oregon’s climate and soils.  We decided it was time to get back to producing limited quantities of one of our favorite styles and varietals of white wine.

We source our Chardonnay from the 210-acre Gran Moraine Vineyard located in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA. Gran Moraine is comprised of well-drained, ancient Willakenzie and Hazelair soils and is situated in the foothills of the Coast Range at 180-240 feet elevation, just 10 miles west of Carlton, Oregon.

The 2016 Gran Moraine Chardonnay was barrel fermented with just 17% new oak, the remainder neutral. Creamy, with a round texture and mouthfeel, this wine has notes of ripe golden apple and Asian pear fruit.

This offers a fresh and more fruit-focused impression with a supple and neatly arranged core of flavorful, succulent peach to close. Neat, fresh and drinkable style here. -90 Points, James Suckling
