The 2015 Auxerrois will be available for purchase on October 1st, 2016
In 2015 Raptor Ridge sourced 1.5 tons of Auxerrois from a 2.5 acre site on Zenith Vineyard, in the Eola-Amity Hills. The wine was whole-cluster pressed and fermented directly in 225-liter French oak barrels. On the nose the wine reveals ripe orchard fruit and melon, along with savory notes of honey and herbs. The palate reflects the fermentation in oak, and is both round and creamy. While Auxerrois is a naturally low-acid variety, the wine finishes fresh. This is wine for food - think richer dishes, such as pasta with morels, or cream of mushroom soup.
