Atticus can be found north of Yamhill, on Russel Creek Road. Marine sedimentary (Willakenzie) soils provide excellent drainage. Southern exposure results in rich, black fruit.
The 2014 Black Hole Vineyard Pinot Noir combined black fruit (think brambly blackberry) with an intriguing herbal tone. While mid-palate weight is rich and full, confirming the vintage, the finish is lifted and acidic.
The 2014 Duo is a two barrel selection of Pinot Noir from Blocks 10 and 11 of the Estate Tuscowallame Vineyard - initially released exclusively to Flight Club Members, the Duo presents red and blue fruit aromas, and a supple texture. Needless to say, this is an extremely limited wine!
Raptor Ridge's Tuscowallame Vineyard, meaning “place where the owls dwell,” is located in Oregon’s Chehalem Mountains about 25 miles southwest of Portland. Our estate Pinot noir is noted for its silky texture, fine-grained tannins, Italian plum, cherry, black pepper and mineral notes. 92pts - James Suckling
The 2014 Estate Whole Cluster is sourced from Pinot Noir clone 114 from Blocks 10 and 11, and Pommard from Block 9, on our Estate (Tuscowallame) vineyard. The warmth of the vintage resulted in sufficiently lignified stems to allow Scott to craft this limited wine. The motivation behind partial whole-cluster fermentation is a wine marked by complex tannins, as well as intriguing spice on the nose and palate. Fully ripe pinot noir from younger estate vines reveals red and black berry fruit, with licorice and floral resonance. This wine will age beautifully, as the ripe tannins integrate over time!
The 2014 Goodrich boasts rich, dark fruit and a velvety texture, delicious now or in five to seven years.
We harvest the 2014 Gran Moraine Vineyard Pinot Noir from Block 401at a Brix of 24.9 on the 21st of September, 2015. The wine spent 5 days on cold-soak maceration prior to an 18 day fermentation with 100% destemmed Pinot Noir grapes. The wine was matured 9 months if French oak barrels, with an overall new oak impact of 27%.
Olenik fruit is noted for its brooding, dark, richness and structure.
A refined and elegant blend, and as its name suggests, inspires quiet, contemplative time to savor and enjoy. Crafted from Pinot Noir from our estate vineyard, Olenik, Shea and Temperance Hill, this is a “designer blend” that is developed with our club members in mind.
The boldest of the wines that Raptor Ridge produces, this vintage showcases a medium-bodied expression of the grape with plum, tobacco and licorice notes.
