This beautiful expression of our Estate vineyard Pinot noir is a stunner on all fronts! In the glass, this wine is vibrant garnet with fantastic clarity. The nose greets you with red cranberry, red cherry, and crushed raspberry, with soft meaty notes of seasoned leather and ripe savory notes. On the palate, one is greeted by generous red fruits, wrapped up in a firm structure of tannin and crisp acidity. This wine will age well in your cellar, or enjoy now with rich buttery northwest salmon.

The 2011 Trig is a blend of Olenik and Goodrich Vineyards. 2011 is known as a rather shy vintage, but there is nothing shy about this cuvee. Trig is very expressive on the nose with boisterous, velvety fruit. Black cherry cola meets red vine and licorice whips. On the palate, this expressive character continues, wrapped up in a terrifically rich and structured wine, with hints of black tea and “woodsy” spices like cedar and clove. Enjoy now with pork chops and apple sauce. This wine will only continue to broaden over the next seven years as it ages.  

Atticus Vineyard fruit has been utilized in many of our cuvees and blends, and we were proud to offer our first Atticus Vineyard Designate wine in 2012. This 2013 vintage was harvested the first week of October at a lovely 23.2 Brix, was allowed to soak for 5 days, followed by a two-week fermentation after inoculation. The wine spent 9 months in French oak barrels, with a low intensity of new oak, allowing the natural fruit to shine through vividly in the finished product. The wine contains delicate nuances of candied strawberry and baking spice, and possesses soft and approachable tannin. 

In 2012 we had the great pleasure of adding a new sub AVA to the Raptor Ridge mix when David and Jeanne Beck approached us about working with their Dijon 115 clone Pinot noir from Crawford Beck Vineyard in the Eola Amity Hills. These meticulously cared for vines are planted in Jory soils at 460-foot elevation and impart the classic blue fruits found in the Eola-Amity AVA with a lovely hint of forest floor/mushroom all wrapped up in a very silky texture.

90 Points, Wine Enthusiast (August, 2016) Here is the most engaging offering of the winery's 2013 single vineyard Pinots. It's bright with red-berry fruit and tropical-candy highlights. Meyer lemon peeks in, and the tangy fruit flavors continue into a finish of medium weight and length. Drink now and over the next couple of years.-Paul Gregutt
